Have People Been Put Off Buying a 4X4?
Over the past few years motorists who drive a 4X4 seem to have been getting a bit of stick for driving so-called ‘gas guzzlers’, some have even been vilified. It seems as though many parts of the public see the ‘Chelsea Tractor; brigade as causing unnecessary damage to the environment.
Due to the bad publicity there seems to have been a stigma associated with driving a large car and therefore the demand for these vehicles slowly declined along with the prices. In a bid to get people back on board the 4X4 boat manufacturers and car dealers lowered the vehicle prices.
However, over the past month it appears that things have started to change. This vehicle sector is starting to pick up once again and prices have shown signs of recovery. So if motorists are looking to buy a 4X4 now is the time to start looking before prices pick up once again.
Motoring experts have suggested that the recovery is due to the introduction of new greener models such as the new Land Rover Discovery 4 and the BMW X6 – which have more environmental credentials and less stigma attached to them.
The Nissan Pathfinder is another 4X4 which has received good praise and even retains its value extremely well. You would expect 4X4 sales to pick up slightly during the winter months anyway as they are fantastic for winter and cold-weather driving.
So, now that the criticism seems to have died down will people start to buy 4X4’s once again without worrying what others think?
